Shed Shout Out! - September 2026September 2026 marks the end of an era for our Shed. From an idea that emerged over a few pints in The Bell and took shape in Laker’s Tea Room, we finally opened our doors in 2015. 11 years-on, and despite the leaky roof, we remain grateful to our landlords for providing us free use of such a large space for so long. But our future is set within the Bucks Local Plan and this confirms that it is, indeed, time for us to move on. Our town’s new Employment Site is in Granborough Road and we are delighted to confirm that one of the proposed new units has our name on it! We will be leaving Station Road at the end of this month and moving into temporary accommodation at Tinker’s End while the site is being developed. As we speak, a mountain of packing crates have been delivered and a large removals truck is booked for September 29th. First priority will be to move essentials (like comfy chairs and the tea urn) so we hope to minimise any delay to a return to ‘business-as-usual’ Probably the last couple of jobs to leave our Station Road workshop will be Bryan’s splendid refurbishment of a rocking horse for the Circle Centre for Autism Early Support and this treasured garden bench for an elderly customer in Whitchurch. Refurbishing this popular design seems like a very simple task (which it is) but, boy, what a lot of work! Full credit to Dick for making such a great job of this one.
STOP PRESS - Unfortunately the Circle Centre are unable to offer the Rocking Horse a home. If anyone knows of a good home we will be pleased to hear from you. |
| It might be summer and sweltering but it can still be a bit lonely at times you can be assured of a warm welcome at the Shed! |
