Shed Shout Out! - May 2026It was heartening to have a good turnout for our AGM and particular thanks go to the guests and supporters who came along on the day to hear our news and ideas. Being a useful community resource is what we work at quietly but with a quite narrow, local focus. We wondered though - could we contribute to and maybe benefit from slightly wider engagement? This became one of our themes for the last year and it seems to have had a positive impact. Our ‘Accreditation’ is one example but so too was when we contributed to a fact-finding project by Healthwatch Bucks. Rather than simply completing a questionnaire we hosted a round-table discussion for one of their project leaders and about a dozen Shedders. The result met their research needs but also provided us with an unexpected chance to share concerns and uncertainties. This proved to be time well-spent and probably not something that could have been predicted or planned. As we move into Summer, we will be out and about quite a lot more starting with the Community Stall at Winslow Market on Wednesday 13th May – hope to see you there. Not always a 'Barrel of Fun'!Sometimes we have to fix some of our own equipment. Derek and Tony making a simple task of fixing our 'Bobbin Sander' look difficult, as usual! Here's one we (John) made earlier...Another mud kitchen built by John but this time it's for St. Thomas Aquinas Junior School in Bletchley. |
| It might be spring but it can still be chilly and with the cost of heating still prohibitive you can be assured of a warm welcome at the Shed! |
