Shed Shout Out! - February 2026At last - snowdrops have arrived to confirm that Spring really is on its way and I think we will all be pleased to see the back of what seems to have been a particularly cold and damp winter. Our productivity with making and mending jobs might have suffered as a result but attendances remain at about 20 per session and that can only mean one thing - a lot more chatting and tea drinking has been going on which is (in fact) mainly why we’re here. Happy days! Another distraction from the chilly workshop has been our winter talks programme. This month we were extremely lucky to have local artist Peter Keegan visit to talk about his work, about the ‘art world’ in general and about his journey from being a talented youngster in South Wales to a highly-respected portrait artist and teacher with an international following. Peter’s engaging commentary and entertaining style kept his audience of Shedders spell-bound and all while he made our very own Dr Tony Watson emerge as a charcoal sketch on the easel. Quite magical. Next month’s talk is on a REVISED DATE Thursday 12th February at 11:00 when I will be talking about the Austin A30 I spent the first 8 years of my Shedding career restoring. Not so much about nuts, bolts and rust but more about a car with a fascinating history and some of the people I have met along the way. Talking of spring flowers..We were pleased to make some signs for the Greener Winslow project to show off their own handywork. Nice job Tim!

| Like many, we’ve been trying to hold on to Summer for just a bit longer by kidding ourselves that we don’t need the heating on just yet - but we’ve relented now of course! Once again, we have signed -up as a Warm Welcome Space so if you are passing and fancy a brew, a warm-up and a chat then just pop-in. Christmas is just around the corner too so don’t forget to say Hello when we’ll be at the Town Christmas Fair from 5:00 on the 27th. |
