Shed Shout Out! - August 2025

We’re looking forward to the Winslow Show on Monday 25th where we’ll have plenty of shed-made goodies for sale and, hopefully, lots of enquiries about what we get up to and whether Shedding might be for you.

We had a practice run earlier this summer when we attended Granborough Charter Fayre – a fun day for sure but as a sales event? Let’s just say that if Lord Sugar had been there we would have all been fired but, of course, that wasn’t the point.

After the event, it has been great to have a few gents pop in to see us for a cuppa, a tour and to take away some membership forms.

We do need to keep our eye on finances though so fund-raising will always be important if not a focus for us. We were delighted, then, to receive a message out of the blue from Lilly Fortune who is Manager of Aylesbury Vale Crematorium. They subscribe to an OrthoMetal recycling scheme which generates funds that are then distributed to local charities – we had been identified as a potential beneficiary for their Summer round of funding!

We were delighted to welcome Lilly for a tour and a chat and to accept a very large cheque (in every sense!) on behalf of the Westerleigh Group. In a very informal meeting, Lilly explained her wider role which includes community liaison to help dispel myths and ease taboos that some feel about such a sensitive subject.
