Shed Shout Out! - April 2026

Many Shedders know Richard Evans as the chap who built a superb mini-Land Rover here or, maybe, as the man who pops in to fettle his elderly Volvo.  But if Richard is an occasional Shedder these days he does have a good excuse.  In addition to Shedding, Richard is an Airbus pilot and a busy dad so we were especially grateful that he was able to make time to deliver our March talk.  Richard entertained us with tales from the flight deck and made sure we can all now take-off and land an A320.  Next time we climb aboard a ‘big orange one’, it will be reassuring to know that there is a Shedder at the controls. (as long as it’s Richard!)

Armed Forces Community Accreditation Award

Our members do bring a huge variety of skills and experience to the Shed and, not least, our half-dozen or so ex-servicemen.  Shedding does engender something of the camaraderie that is so fundamental to military service so we were interested when the UK Men’s Sheds Association launched an Armed Forces Community Accreditation scheme.  So, we applied, we ‘passed’ and we can now proudly display our certificate.  If any ex-servicemen see it and are encouraged to find out more about us or if it connects us to appropriate support networks then it has to be a positive step for Winslow Shed.
