The latest news from the Shed....
We’re lucky to have a good range of decent quality tools and machines at the Shed so making sure Shedders know how to use them safely is a regular feature of our twice-weekly sessions. Equally important is getting good value from what we’ve been fortunate enough to be able to buy so every machine must earn its keep. We have, however, made an exception to the rule this month and we’re hoping that our latest addition is never going to see active service! With generous support from Winslow and Villages Community Board (part of Bucks Council) we have taken delivery of a state-of-the-art defibrillator that will be sited on the front of our premises in Station Road. Our usual fundraising efforts will be used to meet installation, running and maintenance costs. Many of our members are of that ‘certain age’ where heart-health might be more of an issue but our intention here is to provide a community resource that is available 24/7 to anyone in need in this part of our town. Finally, and as a delightful conclusion to 2022, we were honoured to be joined by Amie Whitehall at our Christmas gathering in December. The Shed was packed and the tea-urn was working overtime as Amie cut a ribbon to officially open the workshop we have named in her Dad’s honour. All in all an occasion we’re sure Ian would have thoroughly approved of! |
